
Renowned radiologist Dr. Wessam Bou-Assaly, previously based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, has now brought his exceptional international medical experience to the United Arab Emirates, where he resides and practices as a leading voice in diagnostic imaging.
Educational Journey and Global Credentials
Dr. Wessam Bou Assaly was educated in both France and the United States. After earning his medical degree in 2000 from a French university, he completed his radiology residency in Caen and Lille, followed by a move to the USA in 2004. There, he trained at the Indiana University School of Medicine, specializing in Neuroradiology and Head & Neck Imaging (2006), and later in Nuclear Medicine and PET CT (2007).
Having spent over a decade serving patients and leading innovation in Michigan, Wessam Bouassaly has now transitioned to the UAE’s healthcare system, bringing with him world-class diagnostic capabilities and a vision for future-ready imaging solutions.
A New Chapter in the Emirates
Dr. Bou-Assaly is now collaborating with various UAE healthcare providers, contributing to the development of AI-integrated radiological systems, early-stage cancer detection programs, and cross-border tele-radiology services. His focus is not only on patient outcomes but also on capacity building—mentoring young radiologists and participating in academic initiatives across the region.
His relocation marks a turning point for UAE’s healthcare sector, especially in radiology, aligning with the country’s mission to become a global medical tourism hub and a center for excellence in specialized care.
